Caribou Coffee partners with organizations such as the Rainforest Alliance, USDA Organic and Fair Trade to ensure that these high standards are maintained from tree to cup. The Rainforest Alliance certifies coffee farms to guarantee that the environment is safeguarded and better farming practices are in place. In 2005 Caribou Coffee announced that by 2008, 50% of all of their coffees will be Rainforest Alliance Certified. Caribou Coffee is well on the way as they expect the percentage of their coffees to exceed 35% in 2007. Amy's Blend~ Amy Erickson helped Caribou Coffee become what it is today by mixing passion and zeal for quality coffee. In 1995, the Caribou coffee family was devastated when Amy, after a valiant fight for her life, died of breast cancer.
